The second oldest city street in the UK, after Vicars’ Close, Wells - the first of the many fascinating pieces of information vouchsafed by Christopher Marsden-Smedley to an eager group from All Saints’ as they assembled to begin their tour of St Andrew’s church. The activity of church-crawling, started quite a few years ago by the then Rector, Derek Hooper, had been resurrected after a long interval by Fiona and Andrew Densham. They had chosen the assembly point in view of the church, and outside the Talbot Inn, which meant that a fascinating ecclesiastical evening concluded with more secular relaxation.
