By 9.30 they were on their way to Blagdon Lake, where Steve Taylor, who works for Bristol Water there, showed them he much-depleted lake, and the fishing lodge, where the fish in the glass cases are as big as the tales told about their catching by the fishermen. From Blagdon the party took a quick look at the industrial estates before moving on to the Rec., where Bruce Barnes showed them the all-weather bowling green, and those attending a baptism party in the Sports & Social Club were kind enough to permit some brief gate-crashing.
