Jim Swords. Show Secretary, writes:Once again the village produced a very successful show. We had over 400 entries in 80 classes, and despite the not so favourable weather for fruit, vegetables and flowers we had some exceptional entries. The Domestic Classes produced some of the best entries we have seen for some years. An increase in the numbers of craft entries gave us the chance to view some marvellous entries particularly in the knitting and crocheted classes. The Children excelled themselves once again with some excellent items to amuse and delight us.Our thanks to the judges for their continued support, and to all who came to help with the setting up and clearing up. Thanks to Pat Parsons and her team of helpers for providing some delicious Tea and Cakes. We are very grateful to all our local shops ,traders and businesses for taking advertisements in the schedule and for selling the schedules. Particular thanks to Lye Cross Farm for providing the marvellous Cheese Hamper for The Programme Draw. When the accounts have been finalised we shall as usual distribute profits from the show to local good causes and charities.
