I have had recent experience of the bike shop in Burrington
maintaining my bike. They rebuilt my gears and tweaked
everything for me when the most favoured option appeared to
be to buy a new bike for almost three times the price.
I was really pleased with the result, the bike has never ridden
better, and last time I went back to ask to have it serviced I
was advised after a quick look that the gears and brakes all
seemed OK, so they just pumped up the tyres and advised me
to come back in a few months.
Their experience and mechanics are very good. I have had inferior service at the big bike shops
in Bristol in the past, and it seems tragic that not more people outside of the typical non- 'badass
bike' stereotype know of this business on our doorstep.
They have been at Burrington for nearly two years now. I hope that you can support them as it is
great to have such a good business on our doorstep. Their name, for some people, might appear
to rule them out, but don’t let it put you off: they provide a knowledgeable and firstrate service for
all age groups and types of bikes, and I hope that I am getting that across to the Village
Journal readership.
By the way, I am not a shareholder: just someone who likes to keep good things in the community.
It was a shame when Wrington Greens disappeared...and perhaps I could have done more to help
encourage folk to support them at the time. As Joni Mitchell sang, 'You don't know what you've got
till it's gone'.
