Laurent Fafeur, assembled to greet us with 'God Save The Queen'. Our visit provided the theme for much of the art work we saw, including a map of the UK with Wrington identified in large letters. The school and young people in Villeneuve are particularly keen to make links with their counterparts in Wrington, and indeed there are already plans in progress for joint projects between the two schools. We would like to record our gratitude to the Mayor and his team and to the members of the committee who took time to accompany us on the various visits, and for their generous hospitality which gave us the chance to meet and get to know each other. Special thanks to Yves Blérard Léglise who is our main contact at the Mairie and enthusiastic co-ordinator of twinning activities at the Villeneuve end. The visit was fairly demanding in terms of time and energy but extremely enjoyable and certainly widened our knowledge of Villeneuve and the region and consolidated our relations with the Mayor, the members of his administration, and the committee members including those involved with the rugby club, the school, wine producers, accommodation, restauranteurs, and the arts and crafts associations. We will be developing proposals over the coming weeks with members of the Wrington Association and, we hope,  arranging a visit from members of the Villeneuve committee to meet people who share similar interests in Wrington. We are also intending to build a register of families interested in making contacts.” ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Please contact a member of the committee if you have any further ideas, queries or comments.
