Fun Run 2019 On Sunday 12th May, the runners lined up for the Wrington PTA Fun Run. This is an annual event, which has been running since 1982, in which participants can run, jog or walk around the picturesque villages’ 3 mile course. The weather was glorious, and the PTA were amazed to have a record number 315 people sign up to the event! The race started at 10:45am with a warm up by the sponsors ‘The Club and Spa’ at Cadbury House; then the runners – of all ages and abilities – lined up for the start. The winner of the race was Sam Gentry who sped around the course in 16 minutes and 30 seconds! It was a fantastic day, which brought the people of the village and those from far and wide together to raise money for the PTA, whose hard work benefits the children of Wrington C of E Primary School. Next year the PTA hopes to make the event even bigger – plans are in motion to include a 1km and 10km course to include and challenge all ages and abilities! The PTA would like to thank everyone who gave up their time to help make the day a success. Special thanks to Adele Williams from Super Funky Penguin Photography, Bob Bowen and Richard Thorn for their media coverage of the event.
