EditorialA bumper issue this time! It is notable that the number of pages has risen to 36, which in itself causes a potential problem for the postage costs. Also of note is the fact that 30% of the entries were received after the deadline, and one (shown below) has had to be squeezed in by reducing this Editorial! (What a shame did I hear you say?).The Wrington Fair Week is upon us, and features heavily in this issue please attend the events and enjoy the activities.

We visited Bruton last Saturday, and were very pleasantly surprised tosee a pair of Red Kites flying and performing aerobatics with mocking crows. These birds are a joy to watch, and it is good to see them in Somerset. Single birds are spotted on odd occasions, and I saw one flying west over Wrington last autumn; this was probably the lone bird that was recorded at Uphill a day or so later. Keep an eye open for these masters of the air. Please send your copy for the Journal to: firstname.lastname@example.orgIan Parsons
