Making a very welcome return to Wrington after being the star turn at the WI’s Christmas party, the Royal Mail Choir, under their conductor David Ogden, drew a sell-out audience who will have boosted the choir’s fund-raising efforts since their TV appearances, in aid of Prostate Cancer UK. David Ogden is also conductor of the Exultate Singers, the City of Bristol Choir, Royal School of Church Music Chamber Choir, and the RSCM Youth Choir. The auidence enthusiastically received their lively and engaging performance, pausing only to consume a toothsome meal, and watch a 4-minute DVD of the choir, under David Ogden, recording a charity single, Abide with Me, in April, with X- Factor winner Joe McElderry. It’s hoped sales of the single will supplement the overall amount the choir have so far raised for Prostate Cancer UK. This stands at something over £13,000, which will be doubled by Royal Mail.
