For the first time, the lighting of the Christmas tree to signal the start of the evening, was accompanied by the Yeo Valley Lions Club
Father Christmas float parked opposite The Plough. This meant that no one missed it on its travel round the village, and it provided a
very appropriate start to the event, much appreciated by the children attending.
The event itself goes from strength to strength, thanks to the contribution of the stallholders, the singers and other performers, and
the Fair Committee chaired by Jeremy Birkett, only 7 months after his efforts mounting another highly successful Fair Week and
Pageant.
The weather did its best to chill everyone’s socks off, but the rain was only spasmodic.
