Members of the Royal British Legion, Wrington Branch formed up in front of 3, Westwood Close, home of Branch Secretary John Gallop and Judith Gallop, Poppy Appeal Oganiser, at 11am to commemorate VE75Day.
10 people attended, neighbours and Legion members. Albert Owers, our President, spoke the exhortation, and Chris Clark the Kohima epitaph. Helen Kell, another member, read from the bible a passage which suited the occasion perfectly. After the ceremony we all toasted those who took part in WWII, and those taking care of us in so many ways during these strange times. The display in the Boot Shop window, Broad Street, recalled local people who served.
